Planning Something Else

With the soon to be release of The Good Rain's debut album, 'Some Other Plan', here are a collection of photo's of the recording sessions. The bulk of the album was recorded on location on the Lionheart mobile studio at the Kinsale College of Further Educations amphitheater and St Multose Church, both in Kinsale and was mixed by Tony O'Flaherty at Sonas in Killarney. The lead single from the album "Blood Red Dress" was recorded and mixed here at Lionheart HQ. The release will be celebrated with a gig at The Spaniard in Kinsale on 22nd March.

Raining Blood Red

So released on an appropriately wet rainy West Cork day is the lead video-single "Blood Red Dress" by The Good Rain from their soon to be released debut album, 'Some Other Plan'. It was recorded and filmed last summer (as documented in a previous blog entry) when i approached the band to record a tune for me for a college assignment and were so pleased with the results that it has been included on their album. Maurice Supple from Blue Shed Productions has done an amazing job with the filming and editing, capturing both the band in in the act of creative flow as well as the studio and the peaceful enviroment it lives in. Enjoy :)

Archived From the Past...

In the first of a few reviews of past production work, this is Emma Hagen singing "Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie" by Joanna Newsom. This beautiful a cappella version is enhanced by Kait Husmann's intimate filming and Catherine Hol's video editing, this was recorded at the old studio location at Coopers Wood, Cahermuchee. Enjoy :)
